Creating Worksets with the Workset Wizard and Editor 

Use

You create worksets in the Portal Content Studio using the Workset wizard, and then build structure hierarchies and assign content objects to the worksets in the Workset Editor.

Prerequisites

Worksets are stored in the Portal Catalog. Before you create worksets, you should create the folders in which you want to store your worksets in the Portal Catalog.

Procedure

...

       1.      In the top-level navigation bar, choose Content Administration ® Portal Content.

       2.      Right-click the folder in which you want to create the workset and choose New ® Workset.

The Workset Wizard opens in the Edit Area of the Portal Content Studio.

       3.      Enter the following data in step 1 “General Properties”:

Property	Description
Workset Name (required)	This name is displayed in the Portal Catalog, in lists, and in tables. It may contain up to 40 characters including blanks.
Workset ID (required)	A workset is uniquely identified by an ID. For more information see Object IDs and Namespace Prefixes.
Workset ID prefix (optional)	You define a prefix when you want to define a namespace for your objects. For more information see Object IDs and Namespace Prefixes.
Master language (required)	The master language is the original language of an object in the Portal Catalog.
Description (optional)	A description of the workset.

       4.      Choose Next.

       5.      In step 3 you can check the settings you made.

       6.      Choose Finish.

The workset is created and is displayed in the Portal Catalog.

       7.      Open the new workset in the Workset Editor. The Property Editor is also displayed.

At this point the workset does not yet contain any content objects.

       8.      Create a workset hierarchy:

¡        Create new folders in the Workset Editor by clicking the New Folder button. Enter a name and ID for the new folders and choose Create New Folder. The folder is created in the workset.

¡        Add content objects (iViews, pages, worksets) either directly to the workset or to the created folders:

                                                  i.       Select the workset folder to which you want to add the content object.

                                                ii.       In the Portal Catalog, right-click the object that you want to add to the workset and choose Add <Object> to Workset ® Copy/Delta Link.

       9.      Use the Property Editor to adjust or change workset properties.

You do not need to explicitly save changes made in the Workset Editor. Changes made with the Property Editor must be saved explicitly by clicking the Save button.

Other Functions in the Workset Editor

       1.      Changing worksets

You can change existing worksets. You can do this with both your own worksets and with those delivered by SAP. For more information see Changing Roles and Worksets.

       2.      Workset Permissions

You can launch the Permissions Editor from the Workset Editor in order to define the workset permissions for administrators and for end users. For more information about permissions see Portal Permissions.

To launch the Permission Editor, from the Display dropdown list, choose Permissions.
