Use

In SAP NetWeaver ’04 and earlier SAP BW Releases it was possible to store the online documentation generated for metadata in hidden documentation and then to index it. Since the online documentation is to be continually generated so that it remains current, a background process was triggered for indexing that generated the associated document for every metadata object and stored it as a document. Using this document and the TREX search, advanced searching is enabled in the metadata. However, generation was quite complex. This led it to becoming a pure text search. If, for example, the term customer occurred in a document, it was not clear whether it appeared in the text of the object or in the text of a characteristic being used. The advanced search described in the Metadata Search (New) provides many more options for searching in metadata. For this reason, the function “Generation of Documents and Metadata” was deleted from administration of document management (transaction RSODADMIN).
