Activating Switch BC Sets 

Use

If you activate industry solutions with Business Function Sets, the system automatically activates the Switch BC Sets which contain the customizing settings for these Business Function Sets, in the background. This activates the customizing settings required for the industry solution in your system. You can also activate Switch BC Sets manually.

Integration

The activation of Switch BC Sets depends on the delivery class attributes of the customizing objects which they contain:

●     Client attributes: Client-specific or cross-client customizing

●     Cascading attributes: Into which clients are these customizing objects imported? For example only in client 000 for delivery class C.

So there are three types of Switch BC Sets contents:

●     Cross-client customizing

●     Client-specific customizing and Switch BC Set contents must be cascaded

●     Client-specific customizing and Switch BC Set contents must not  be cascaded; i.e. the contents are only imported into client 000

Switch BC Set with “Special Customizing”:

If you do want to import customizing objects of the last type (Client-specific customizing and Switch BC Set contents must not be cascaded), into other clients than 000, activate these Switch BC Sets manually, with the program SCPR_SPECIAL_ACTIVATION_SFW. These Switch BC Sets are called Switch BC Sets with Special Customizing.

Features

Automatic Activation of Switch BC Sets

The system activates Switch BC Sets automatically at the following events:

●     when activating Business Function Sets

●     at upgrade (if you have activated Business Function Sets)

●     when you import Support Packages (if you have activated Business Function Sets)

Manual activation of Switch BC Sets

The system activates Switch BC Sets automatically, by default. You can also activate Switch BC Sets manually, in the following cases:

●     if errors occur during automatic activation

●     to import special customizing into other clients than client 000

Compare activated Switch BC Sets to database

If there are errors in the automatic activation of Switch BC Sets, compare activated Switch BC Sets with the dateabase, and adjust differences with the program SCPR_COMPARE_ACTIVATED_BCSETS.
