Procedure documentation Attaching Objects from a File System  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can attach objects to a transport request from a file system. To do this, you must first export your objects as a file and save the file to a file system. This process enables you to transport application objects even if the application is not yet connected directly to the CTS system. (This could be the case for applications in older releases.)

You must use Transport Organizer Web UI to attach non-ABAP objects to transport requests. You cannot use Transport Organizer Classic UI (transaction SE09) for non-ABAP systems. Transport Organizer Classic UI is only suitable for ABAP-only systems and dual-stack systems.

Example

From Release NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 13, SAP NetWeaver Portal is configured to work closely with the transport system. This enables you to attach objects directly in the application. In older SAP NetWeaver Portal systems, however, you can still use CTS to transport Portal Content objects, using this procedure.

You can add any file format to transport requests, including Word and Excel files. This is one way of documenting your transport requests, particularly if you use the quality assurance processes in TMS and need to provide accompanying documentation. You can now use TMS to access these documents at any time and download them to your desktop.

Prerequisites

You have created a transport request.

The transport request has the request status Modifiable.

You have exported the file and saved it to the appropriate file system.

       Client
Search for the file on your desktop and confirm by choosing
OK.

       Server
Search the directory defined in the parameter
NON_ABAP_WBO_INBOX for the appropriate source system. Select the file in this directory and confirm by choosing OK.

More information: Changing the Standard Settings for Source Systems
