Use

If you have 3.x objects in your data flow, you can emulate the 3.x DataSource to model the data flow with transformations and a data transfer process. This means that you can benefit from the features of the new concepts. In the InfoPackage for an emulated DataSource, on the Data Targets tab page, there is a column in the table for the target which shows whether there is a data transfer process for the InfoProvider.

With SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 8, an additional column shows whether the data transfer process updates data to the InfoProvider or whether the InfoPackage does this. In the target of the InfoProvider, you choose  or  to activate or deactivate data update with the data transfer process.

Effects on System Administration

The following InfoProvider functions can only be performed in the InfoPackage if the related data transfer process is deactivated:

●      Select InfoProvider as target of update

●      Delete requests from the InfoCube automatically

If you are using the InfoPackage in a process chain, modify the process chain accordingly after you have activated or deactivated the data transfer process.

InfoPackage settings are applied in InfoProvider administration on the Reconstruction tab page.
