ABAP Workbench 

The ABAP Workbench offers all tools needed by ABAP developers to design, develop, deploy, manage and update ABAP-based business applications. It supports open standards and provides features like exposing ABAP components as Web services without programming. The ABAP Workbench is also featuring Web Dynpro for ABAP – a model-driven development tool which generates UI-tier applications according to the Model, View, Controller (MVC) design pattern.

ABAP programs are developed using the ABAP Editor in the ABAP Workbench. The ABAP Workbench is delivered with the SAP Web Application Server ABAP (AS-ABAP) and contains all tools required for SAP application development. ABAP development takes place on a central development system
