Function documentation Accessing Contents in SAP KW  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

There are various front-end applications you can use to access the contents of SAP KW. Which front-end you actually use usually depends on the functions you need.

There are three ways to access SAP KW:

...

·        Web browser

·        Knowledge Workbench

·        SAP GUI

End-users usually access KW contents via a browser. End-users are mostly colleagues searching for information, which they need for their work tasks, in the SAP KW documentation or training material.

Authors, that is, colleagues who create SAP KW contents for a range of purposes usually work with the Knowledge Workbench.

SAP KW administrators set up configuration and work environment of SAP KW via the SAP GUI. For more information see Administration of SAP KW.

Note

End-users can also display the KW contents using a display transaction in SAP GUI.

SAP GUI offers a range of functions for authors. The emphasis is mainly on the administration activities of authors, for example, linking repository objects and info objects and on the checking functions.

Prerequisites

To use the SAP KW author and administrator functions you have to install the SAP GUI and the relevant SAP KW components on the computers being used.
