Translating Target Language Files
You have created a translation package.
Besides the installation of Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office, the following prerequisites also have to be fulfilled if you want to translate using the TRADOS translation tools:
· Installation of TRADOS Translator's Workbench Version 2.2 Build 66 or higher, TRADOS Team Edition 3 (TRADOS Freelance Edition 3 is not supported) or TRADOS 5.x
· Optional: Installation of TRADOS MultiTerm
To translate Microsoft PowerPoint graphics using TRADOS T-Window for PowerPoint, the following additional prerequisite must also be fulfilled:
· Installation of TRADOS T-Window for PowerPoint 1.1 Build 3 or higher (included in Team Edition 3 and TRADOS 5.x)
To translate a target language file:

1. On your PC, go to the directory where you stored your translation package.
2. Double-click on file ClickMe.doc.
A dialog box displaying the target language files contained in the translation package appears.
3. Open a target language file dst<nnn>.doc.
Microsoft Word is started.
Document dst<nnn>.doc is prepared for translation.
The corresponding file src<nnn>.doc containing the last available version of the translation is opened in the background.
4. Translate the document.
You can navigate between the original file and the target language file with Navigate.
If the target language file contains Microsoft PowerPoint graphics:

a. Select the graphic.
b. Choose PowerPoint.
The Microsoft PowerPoint application appears.
c. To open T-Window, choose TRADOS → Open/Get.
T-Window appears.
The text to be translated is displayed. If translations already exist, they are displayed in the lower part.
d. Translate the text and save your translation.
e. Go back.
The Microsoft PowerPoint graphic is translated.
5. Save your entries.
6. Start the spellcheck.

Before starting the spellcheck, deactivate the display of hidden text.
If you are translating the target language file with the TRADOS Translator's Workbench, also perform the following steps.
7. Choose Cleanup.
The target language file is cleaned up.

Revised translation units are not put in the translation memory if the target language files or translation packages are not cleaned up.
They are not available for later translations in this case.
A message appears after the cleanup. The log file SapTrExt.log contains further information about any errors that occurred.
8. Check document Trans<nnn>.doc.
9. Choose Check.
The target language file is checked.
The target language file was translated.
If your translation package contains more than one target language file dst<nnn>.doc, repeat the procedure for each target language file.
