Use

SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search 7.0 SP2 is based on SAP NetWeaver Application Servers ABAP and Java 7.0 SP12 and on Search and Classification (TREX) 7.1 Revision 8.

Enhancements in SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search 7.0 SP2:

·        Templates for all types of search object connector template (not only those for SAP BO Search) can now be created and modified in one tool: The Template Modeler (previously: BO Search Connector Template Modeler).

·        You can now create search object connectors in three tools:

¡        The primary tool is still the Connection Wizard, which is used to create search object connectors from predefined templates. The Connection Wizard has been re-created for better usability and integration in the Administration Cockpit.

¡        You can now also create search object connectors directly from the templates you create or modify in the Template Modeler. You do not have to change to the Connection Wizard to create a connector from them.

¡        Web service and KM search object connectors, for which no templates are available, are still created in the Configuration Editor.

·        The Configuration Editor has been redesigned. Template creation has been moved to the Template Modeler (see above). The main function of the Configuration Editor is the maintenance of existing search object connectors and making global settings.

·        The procedure of connecting R/3 systems to Enterprise Search has been slightly simplified. The user required for the BI data extraction is now created automatically.

·        MDM metadata for creating a search object connector template of the type SAP MDM Search is no longer imported using a Web service but a special MDM ABAP API that is installed on the Enterprise Search appliance.

·        The troubleshooting section in the Enterprise Search Solution Operation Guide has been amended.

·        An operational concept is now available for Enterprise Search. This details the tasks and responsibilities in operating Enterprise Search.

·        A new Java role SAP_NWES_SUPPORT

This role is intended for users that are to be allowed to view but not edit the configuration settings in the Configuration Editor. The purpose of this role is to offer a support organization the possibility to investigate problems, but not allow them to change any settings.

·        The Search UI is now not only available in English, French, and German, but also in Japanese.

·        The Enterprsie Search configuration and administration interfaces are now also available in German.
