Editing Syndicator Properties
Syndicators as well as subscribers must specify a set of properties that are used to contact each other and to identify the sender and recipient of content being transferred.
Syndicators and subscribers are identified by 32-digit universal unique identifiers (UUIDs). These UUIDs are generated and assigned when the content exchange service is started for the first time.
If an installation sometimes functions as a subscriber and sometimes as a syndicator, it can use the same UUID as its identification in both roles.
1. In the Syndicator Administration iView, choose Properties.
2. Enter a descriptive name for the syndicator in the Description field. This name is transferred to the subscriber with every request sent by the syndicator.
3.
Check the URL displayed in
the Local URL field. It denotes the syndicator URL that can be used
by a subscriber for pull transfer of
content from the syndicator. This
field is read-only. Its value is
specified in the configuration of the
URL generator
service in the syndicator system.
4. Choose Save Properties.
