Enabling
Application-to-Application Processes
This IT scenario supports a message-based and standard-based integration of processes within a company by seamlessly connecting both SAP and non-SAP applications.
Using SAP NetWeaver, you can centrally design, configure, and execute such application-to-application processes (A2A processes). The shared collaboration knowledge, which is based on open standards, ensures openness and interoperability for communication with existing integration solutions. The pre-delivered content that is provided allows an out-of-the-box integration of SAP solutions with other SAP or non-SAP applications.
By providing one common infrastructure for such collaborative processes between SAP and non-SAP applications, the complexity of a company’s system landscape is reduced and the overall performance therefore increased.
The Enabling
Application-to-Application Processes IT scenario is based primarily on the SAP NetWeaver
usage types
Process
Integration (PI) and
Application Server
(AS).
The Enabling Application-to-Application Processes IT scenario is almost identical to the Enabling Business-to-Business Processes IT scenario. Both IT scenarios partly use the same processes for configuring the system landscape, message processing, and monitoring. For more information, see Enabling Business-to-Business Processes.
