Structure Editing 

Use

You can structure your info objects.

Directories in the HTML-Based Documents area are edited just like structures.

Integration

With the Knowledge Workbench, all the structures are edited locally on your PC in the local repository.

When you choose objects in SAP KW and call the editing function, the objects are automatically downloaded to the local repository on your PC and locked for changes by other users.

The information about the content objects referred to in the structure is also downloaded.

The content objects themselves are only downloaded if you

·        Call up the editing function for content objects

·        Check out the info objects

Structures are edited with the structure editor in the Knowledge Workbench. If you choose a structure or a directory for editing in SAP KW or the local repository, the structure editor is started and the structure chosen is displayed.

Once you have finished editing the info objects in the local repository, you have to check in the info objects.

Prerequisites

If you want to edit info objects from SAP KW and you have not yet downloaded these objects to the local repository, you have to work with the Knowledge Workbench in online mode.

The info objects to be edited must not have been checked out of SAP KW by another user. Info objects that were checked out by other users can only be viewed.

Features

A separate window of the structure editor is opened for each structure.

The window has two frames:

·        In the left frame, the structure is displayed as a tree whose nodes can be expanded and compressed. Actions for individual info objects can be executed in the tree view in the left frame.

·        In the right frame, the info objects of the node that is currently selected are displayed. If you want to perform actions for several objects at the same time, you have to choose the objects in the right frame.

In the structure editor, you can:

·        Check out info objects of the structure to change or view them

·        Insert info objects in a structure

¡        from a folder in SAP KW or the local repository

¡        from a hit list created by searching SAP KW or the local repository

·        Remove info objects from a structure

·        Move info objects within a structure

·        Copy info objects within a structure

·        Change the link type of an embedded structure (structure include to structure link or vice versa)

·        Change and display attribute values of info objects

Activities

Choose the structure to be edited.

Start the structure editor by choosing Info Object ® Edit Info Object(s).
