Note the following changes and new features in the administration and configuration of Knowledge Management in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 09.

Cache Monitor (Changed)

A cache monitor capable of clustering is shipped with this release. You can use the cache monitor to monitor the current status of all active caches in your system landscape. Previously, you could monitor only the nodes that you were logged on to.

For more information, see Cache Monitor.

Indexing Monitor (Enhanced)

If errors occur while crawling documents or while TREX is indexing documents, they appear in the indexing monitor. The documents that have caused an error are listed in a table. The system also specifies whether the error occurred during crawling or on the TREX side.

For more information, see Indexing Monitor.

Modifiers (Enhanced)

The documentation contains details of new modifiers that are used to display properties on the flexible user interface:

      alignTop

      alignBaseline

      alignBottom

      alignMiddle

      noWrapping

      onlyLabel

      maxChars

      string

      useLinkData

The documentation also contains details of modifiers that you can use specifically for the rnd:command property.

For more information, see Displaying Properties.

Configuration of Knowledge Management for Heterogeneous System Landscapes (New)

You can now also implement Knowledge Management in heterogeneous system landscapes, for example, those that consist of WINDOWS nodes and UNIX nodes. To do this, you have to change the value of a parameter in the configuration.

For more information, see Configuring KM for Heterogeneous System Landscapes.

Logging Configuration Changes (Enhanced)

As of this release, changes to KM configuration objects are logged in more detail. In addition to the user name, the system also lists the type of change and the parameters changed. The log displays the old and new values for changed parameters. You can use the SAP NetWeaver Administrator (NWA) to display the log.

For more information, see Logging Configuration Changes.
