Information Broadcasting 

Description

In SAP NetWeaver 7.0, both the SAP BW 3.x and the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 versions of the BEx Broadcaster are shipped. The SAP BW 3.x version is started from the SAP BW 3.x BEx tools or from the context menu of Web applications that run in the SAP BW 3.x runtime. This also applies to the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 version: The BEx Broadcaster is started from the relevant BEx tools and the context menu from SAP NetWeaver 7.0.

Existing broadcasting settings from SAP BW 3.x can still be maintained and executed with the BEx Broadcaster from SAP BW 3.x.

General Practices with Migration

In the BEx Broadcaster from SAP NetWeaver 7.0, you can maintain settings for various objects as follows:

●      Queries

You can maintain settings for all queries in the system. However, you must recreate them; you cannot use existing settings from SAP B 3.x.

●      Web applications

You can maintain settings for all Web applications created with the BEx Web Application Designer from SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (regardless of whether they were migrated from SAP BW 3.x, or newly created). You cannot maintain settings for Web applications from SAP 3.x.

●      Workbooks

You can use the settings from SAP BW 3.x without changing them. There were no relevant changes in this area.
