Discovering Processes
Using this IT process, you create, analyze, and refine the process map of your company. You can load SAP reference models, which you can later adapt to suit your specific needs and requirements.
This process is part of the following IT scenarios:
IT Scenario |
Scenario Variant |
You want to analyze the business process of your company, define the process architecture, and document it in the form of a process map.
1. Create process map (ARIS for SAP NetWeaver).
You create the process map for your company, which focuses on the company’s products and services. The result is the process architecture, which includes management processes, core processes, and supporting process.
2. Analyze processes (ARIS for SAP NetWeaver).
You analyze the current and nominal states of the processes. ARIS for SAP NetWeaver provides various chart types, which you can use to further analyze and refine your process map. You can develop procedure models by means of event-driven process chains.
3. Determine project scope (ARIS for SAP NetWeaver).
Based on the results of the process analysis, you determine the project scope and the required scenarios. In the next step, you compare this project scope with the scenarios shipped by SAP.
4. List SAP scenarios and select scenario (ARIS for SAP NetWeaver).
In ARIS for SAP NetWeaver, you list the scenarios shipped by SAP and select the scenario that you want to use. A report then lists all the SAP systems and components required.
5. Create project and synchronize with ARIS for SAP NetWeaver (SAP Solution Manager).
You create a project in SAP Solution Manager and define the system landscape based on the results of the reports that you generated in ARIS for SAP NetWeaver. Finally, you synchronize the project with ARIS for SAP NetWeaver. This links the project in SAP Solution Manager with the project in ARIS for SAP NetWeaver.
6. Load reference model and synchronize with ARIS for SAP NetWeaver (SAP Solution Manager).
You load the SAP reference model from SAP Solution Manager and make it available by using the synchronization in ARIS for SAP NetWeaver. This enables you to edit the project in ARIS for SAP NetWeaver and to add other systems and processes, for example. You can then use the synchronization to make these changes available in SAP Solution Manager.
You have created a project in SAP Solution Manager and ARIS for SAP NetWeaver. The project contains the SAP reference model. You can adapt and enhance this in subsequent processes.
