Use

Administrators, developers, and anonymous users can now enable the localization of the portal using a number of new features.

Anonymous Users

Anonymous users can change the portal language by selecting the relevant language from the new language dropdown list in the portal masthead. If the anonymous user logs on as an authenticated user, the dropdown list disappears from the masthead, and the portal appears in the language that was defined for that user.

Administrators

Portal administrators can enable the language dropdown list by setting the Show Dropdown List in Masthead: Language Personalization for Anonymous Users property in the Masthead iView.

Developers

The locale service now has a user interface for editing the source, target, and personalization languages of the portal. Previously, locale configuration was performed by XML scripting.

The portal provides APIs for getting a list of the available locales, and for setting the locale for anonymous users.
