Function documentation Evaluating Query Data Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You analyze the dataset of the Business Information Warehouse in the BEx Analyzer by inserting queries into Excel workbooks and then interactively evaluate and present the query data.

After inserting a query into a workbook, the distribution of the characteristics and key figures or structures in the rows and columns from the query definition is shown in the first view.

With the help of navigation functions (such as the expansion of a hierarchy, filtering of a characteristic to a characteristic value) you can change the query and thereby generate further views of the InfoProvider data. The BEx Analyzer functions you need to do this are in the standard toolbar and in the context menu of the filter and results area cells. You can change the display of the characteristics and key figures in the axes of the rows and columns belonging to the query. You can make settings that affect the display of the entire query, the characteristics, the key figures or the data. You can define sort orders (for example, ascending or descending according to the key or the name of the characteristic values) and determine output conditions (such as a currency translation) in order to configure the presentation of the data in accordance with your requirements. In addition, you can use the editing functions in Microsoft Excel in order to set up individual format templates, to print results areas, or to create graphics.

If you have created the required view of the data for the InfoCube, you can save it in the workbook and store it, for example, in your favorites.

Prerequisites

The basic navigation functions are:
