Administration Guide
The following documentation describes the administrative tasks that you carry out in the respective areas of Knowledge Management.
· Initial configuration
· System administration
· Content administration
This documentation also contains information on security configuration and the technical operation of Knowledge Management.
After you have installed Content Management you have to carry out initial configuration tasks in order to activate fundamental functions within the system. The configuration tasks described here must be carried out in order to prepare the system for users. For more information, see Initial Configuration Tasks.
System administration comprises system configuration and monitoring, logging, and tracing. System configuration contains tasks such as setting up repositories, creating properties, and modifying the user interface. The tools in the monitoring, logging, and tracing task area help you to recognize and remove incorrect configuration settings and critical system statuses.
You carry out these tasks in the Configuration iView. To call up the Configuration iView, choose System Administration ® System Configuration ® Knowledge Management ® Content Management. For more information, see System Administration.
