Function documentation Configuring the Monitoring Console Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The Monitoring Console (MC) allows you to clearly display data from the CCMS monitoring architecture, allowing you to centrally monitor the SAP system landscape. The local system is already monitored “out of the box” without the need for additional configuration.

To be able to monitor additional systems in your IT environment with the Monitoring Console, you must configure the MC.

Features

Activities

The configuration consists of three parts:

·        The MC can only monitor systems that are entered in the Structure linkSAP System Landscape Directory (SLD). You must also compare the system list in the MC with SLD (see Creating the System List with the System Landscape Directory).

·        To be able to monitor a system, you require a user in the monitored system in whose name the data is to be transferred from the monitored system to the MC system. The MC uses this data to automatically create an RFC destination, with which the data collection is performed, during the configuration (see Configuring System Monitoringsa).

·        A monitored system must be included in the tree hierarchy of monitored objects  (see Monitored Hosts, Servers, and Landscapessapurl_link_0010_0004_0005). You must therefore assign the monitored system to at least one landscape. This is also done during the system registration.

Note

The local system is assigned to the landscape Local without any configuration.
