Procedure documentation Synchronizing Data Carriers with the Backend Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can synchronize data from the mobile device that the end user stored on one or more data carriers with the backend.

Prerequisites

·        You activated and configured data carrier synchronization for the mobile device, see Setting Up Data Carrier Synchronization.

·        At least one application is already installed on the mobile device.

·        No new applications should be installed on the device with the next synchronization.

·        You or the end user stored the data from the mobile device on one or more data carriers.

·        You are in the SAP MI Web Console (see Starting the SAP MI Web Console).

Procedure

...

       1.      Choose the tab Administration ® Start Data Carrier Synchronization.

       2.      Create a new synchronization process.

       3.      For the required synchronization process choose Edit.

       4.      Enter the synchronization files you want to read and choose Continue.

       5.      Select a data carrier and start synchronization.

The data is synchronized with the backend. One or more synchronization files are created with the file extension *.mis.

       6.      If necessary, delete the files you previously read from the data carrier or swap the data carriers.

       7.      Click on the synchronization files for the end user in order to download them and to store them on the data carriers. If you want to use a CD or DVD, copy the files to a temporary directory and then burn them on the appropriate data carrier.

       8.      Give the end user the data carrier.
