Procedure documentation Starting the Monitoring Console Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The Monitoring Console (MC) is conceived as a BSP application; that is, you can call the MC in a normal Web browser. For a basic introduction to BSP applications, see Structure linkWeb Applications and Business Server Pages. To start the MC, either call the associated URL, or use transaction SCMC.

Prerequisites

To be able to use the Monitoring Console, you must have configured the Structure linkInternet Communication Framework on this system.

Starting the MC Using a URL

You have various options for starting the Monitoring Console. You usually enter a URL directly into a Web browser. This URL has the following structure for the MC:

<Prot>://<Hostname>:<Port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/ccms_mc/default.htm

where:

<prot> Protocol http or https (if configured)

<Hostname> Name of the application server on which the MC is to be run

<Port> Port number; by default, the port number 1080 (http) or 1443 (https) is used in the SAP Web Application Server.

Note

For more information about starting a BSP application, see Structure linkAccessing a BSP Application.

Starting the MC Using an SAP Transaction

If you have installed a SAP GUI on your front end, you can also start the MC by entering the transaction code SCMC in the command field.

Starting the MC as a Favorite in the Web Browser

To be able to call the Monitoring Console even more easily, you can save the MC in the list of Favorites in your Web browser. If you have already started the MC using one of the above methods, simply choose the To Favorites button to do this.
