Open 
Use
With the Open function on the BEx toolbar you can open existing workbooks, queries, stored query views, and exceptions. You can also define a new query for an InfoProvider or change an existing query.
Features
You can use the Open function on the BEx toolbar with the following BW objects:
- Workbooks
: All the workbooks that are assigned to your history, favorites or roles view are displayed.

search dialog where you can search for workbooks and withusing

Queries: All the Business Information Warehouse queries (for which you have
display authorization) are displayed.

- Stored Query Views
: All the Business Information Warehouse query views (for which you have display authorization) are displayed.
takes you to the search dialog where you can search for stored query views and using
, you can show or hide the technical names of the query views.
- Exceptions:
All exceptions that the user is allowed to see in accordance with the background processing scheduling are displayed (see
Defining the Exceptions Setting). The exceptions are listed starting with the InfoArea level up to the individual views (the drilldowns you ran in the background).

Changing Queries / Defining Queries
If you want to change an existing query or define a new one, choose Open ®
Queries.
- To change a query, select the query from your history, favorites, roles or InfoAreas and, from the context menu of the query, choose Change or
.
- To create a new query choose the symbol
(New) in the upper right area of the dialog box or, from the context menu of a query that you have already selected, or from an InfoProvider for which you want to create the query, choose Create and then New.
Activities
If you want to open an existing workbook or query, or if you want to define a new query, start the Business Explorer Analyzer, and, from the Microsoft Excel main menu, choose the function SAP Business Explorer ®
Open, or alternatively, use the Open pushbutton on the BEx toolbar.
