In addition to errors that refer to the status of the user data and input errors during the logon, problems in the server or client configuration can also mean that the logon cannot be performed correctly.

The following error messages may be displayed:

Cause

SSO ticket generation is deactivated. Logon is only possible using Basic Authentication

The login/create_sso2_ticket parameter (see also Structure linkUsing Logon Tickets) is not set for SSO2 ticket generation. Contact your system administrator about this.

If required, you can continue with the logon using Basic Authentication Functions such as password change and displaying system messages are still active.

Incorrect SSO configuration on this server. Logon is only possible using Basic Authentication

The login/create_sso2_ticket parameter is set correctly, however, an error occurred when the ticket was generated. You or the administrator should check the system settings according to Structure linkConfiguring the System so that it Displays Logon Tickets.

If required, you can continue with the logon using Basic Authentication Functions such as password change and displaying system messages are still active.

Cookies are not activated in the browser. Logon is only possible using Basic Authentication

It was determined that setting cookies has not been activated in your browser (see Prerequisites). Activate cookies or use Basic Authentication to log onto the system.

No switch to HTTPS! Sending the password is potentially insecure

Either the redirect to HTTPS was suppressed manually by setting the No switch to HTTPS parameter on the configuration screen of the ICF node, or the server’s SSL configuration is incorrect. In the ICM Monitor – Service display, check the status of the HTTPS protocol and, if necessary, contact your administrator.

See also Note 51006 “Setting Up SSL On the Web Application Server”.

You are already logged on in the system with the following sessions.

Note

This message is displayed only if the Check for Multiple Logon field is selected.

There area already sessions on your server with your user ID (see Transaction SM04). This may mean that objects that you processed during these sessions are still locked. You now have the option to delete these sessions, thereby releasing the locks on the objects or to start your application without changes.

Note that each existing session allocates system resources, thereby influencing the overall system performance.

Basic Authentication is not included in the selected logon methods for this application

Configuration problems (SSO, cookies etc.) were detected during the system logon, which means that only Basic Authentication can be used. However, Basic Authentication is not in the list of possible logon methods for this application. Use the ICF node of your application to check this on the Service Data tab page, Logon Procedure group header, Alternative Logon Seq. radio button, Sub.Logon tab page.
