Retrieval: Search Server Relation
Monitor
· Search Server Relation (SSR)
· RFC-Destination (TCP/IP)
· Index Category (Index)

We highly recommend using the search server relation monitor in the following instances,
· If you have difficulty with an index category (for example, when executing the RSTIRIDX program)
· If you are no longer using an index category and their indexes, and you, therefore, want to delete them
· If you want to change or enhance your settings in the Business Information Warehouse Implementation Guide (IMG)
If you are in the Managing the BW Document Administration screen, you use Search Server Relations to get to the Retrieval: Search Server Relation Monitor (transaction SRMO) screen.
Within the scope of the new installation, you have made the following settings:
· Creation of an RFC Destination in the BW System
· Creation of a Search Server Relation
You can find additional information about activities having the same names in the Business Information Warehouse Implementation Guide (IMG) under Documents for BW Objects.
Tab Page: Search Server Relation
Tab Page: RFC Destinations
Using
Maintain RFC Destinations in the
toolbar, you arrive at the Display and Maintenance of RFC Destinations
(transaction SM59) screen. To connect to the search engine, you can create,
change, delete, or search in the area of the TCP/IP-connections destinations.
(You can find additional information about creating an RFC destination in the
BW system in the “Prerequisites” chapter in the Implementation
Guide.)
If you select a Search Server Relation, you can change or check the following search engine settings both in the lower screen area as well as by using the respective push buttons in the tool bar:

· Created indexes

Of the functions available in the toolbar,
Delete Category is especially
important: With the help of this function you can target and delete an index
category and the indexes that belong to it. For example, this can be helpful
if errors occur when indexing documents for a search.

Note that deleting an index category cannot be reversed, and that re-indexing can take a large amount of time in some cases.
