The Diagnostics: Single System Check screen provides general information on the availability and reliability of your system.

You can access this information by calling the DBA Cockpit and choosing Diagnostics ® System Check in the navigation frame of the DBA Cockpit.

The following information is displayed:

Field

Description

Recovery Availability

Last Backup

Displays the date of the last backup. You must take into consideration that the older a backup is, the longer a recovery may take.

User Exit

Displays the status of the settings of the configuration parameters for the user exit. You must make sure that these settings are correct to enable roll-forward recovery.

Top Space Allocation

Log Directory

Displays the amount of used space as a percentage in the file system where the log directory is located.
If this file system runs out of space, this can lead to a database stop because the database is no longer able to allocate new log files.

Note

This information is only displayed for RFC-monitored systems.

Log Archive

Displays the amount of used space as a percentage in the file system where the log archive directory is located.
If this file system runs out of space, the user exit will no longer be able to move log files from the log directory to the log archive.
You can ignore the log archive check if log files are directly copied to an external storage management system, for example TSM.

Note

This information is only displayed for RFC-monitored systems.

Tablespace <Tablespace Name>

Displays the tablespace with the highest fill level. You can extend the size of the displayed tablespace by adding or extending containers.
