Diagnostics: Single System Check (DB2 UDB for
UNIX and Windows) 
The Diagnostics: Single System Check screen provides general information on the availability and reliability of your system.
You can access this information by calling the DBA Cockpit and choosing Diagnostics ® System Check in the navigation frame of the DBA Cockpit.
The following information is displayed:

Recovery Availability |
|

Last Backup |
Displays the date of the last backup. You must take into consideration that the older a backup is, the longer a recovery may take. |
|
User Exit |
Displays the status of the settings of the configuration parameters for the user exit. You must make sure that these settings are correct to enable roll-forward recovery. |
|
Top Space Allocation |
|
|
Log Directory |
Displays the amount
of used space as a percentage in the file system where the log directory is
located.
This information is only displayed for RFC-monitored systems. |
|
Log Archive |
Displays the amount
of used space as a percentage in the file system where the log archive
directory is located.
This information is only displayed for RFC-monitored systems. |
|
Tablespace <Tablespace Name> |
Displays the
tablespace with the highest fill level. You can extend the size of the
displayed tablespace by adding or extending containers. |
The status of these checks are indicated as follows:
·

Green: No action required.
·

Yellow: We strongly recommend you take immediate action to avoid serious errors that might lead to a database stop.
·

Red: Immediate action required.
During the system check, a message log is written into a list in the lower half of the screen. For detailed information, double-click a message log entry.
For detailed information on one of the checked objects, choose the traffic light and you will be forwarded to the related detail screen:

· Backup and Recovery: Logging Parameters
· Space: Tablespace Maintenance – Display Tablespace
If you want to
retrieve the latest data on your system, choose
Refresh.

By default, the data on the screen is automatically refreshed. In the Automatic Refresh group box, you can set the time period for the refresh or you can select No if you do not want to refresh your data.
