You use a request for nomination to recommend a user for a task or a collaboration room.

Process Flow

The creator of the nomination process assigns tasks nominators, who are responsible for selecting one person from their organization to participate in a task force.

Upon completion of this workflow a collaboration contact set is created consisting of the nominees, if the nominee group is specified.

You have various configuration options when creating a request for nomination. For example, you can configure whether or not nominees are notified that they have been nominated. To do this, select Notify Nominees.

Request for Nomination Options

Option/Field

Description

Nominators

To search for the users that you want to select as nominators for the nomination process, choose Select.

Allow Nominators To Decline Request

Users can decline to be nominators.

Notify Nominees

If you select this option, an e-mail notification is sent to the nominees during the nomination process. If you do not select this option, nominees are not notified that they have been selected to participate in the group.

Requires Acceptance from Nominees

If you select this option, nominees will receive an approval work item for confirming that they agree with their nomination.

This option is only visible if Notify Nominees is selected.

Approval Threshold

If the Requires Acceptance from Nominees option is selected, the following options for configuring the minimum number of responses are displayed. You can define how many nominees have to respond to complete the step.

All Recipients

If you select this option, and one or more of the approvers rejects your request, your workflow is terminated.

At Least x Recipients

For an approval, you can choose the minimum number of approvals necessary to continue the workflow process. This is an optional field.

Example

If you have chosen three approvers for your workflow, you can select one, two, or all of them.

Create User Group for Nominated Participants

You can also create a user group for the nominees you have selected in this process.

 

Possible Steps for a Nominator

The following figure shows the possible options for a nominator once they have received a request for nomination.

      Nominator accepts the request for nomination.

This action is only possible if you have selected the Allow Nominators to Decline Requestoption when creating the process.

Example

A user wants to create a task force consisting of representatives from different organizations. Each organization can nominate one person. A new distribution list is created. All nominated persons are added to the distribution list.

You can also assign the group of people to a user group.
