Local Calculations
You can recalculate single values and results of a report based on certain criteria. For example, you can create ranked lists or you can calculate the total of a Top 10 product list locally.
You
can execute the local calculations function from the Query Designer in
structural components in the
Properties of the
Selection/Formula dialog or from the context menu of queries and Web
applications. See
OLAP Functions for
Active Cells and
Functions of the
Context Menu.
Local calculations include only those numbers in the calculation that appear in the current view of the report. In this way, you override the standard OLAP processor calculations.
Note that these local calculations only change the display of the values. With subsequent calculations, such as formulas, the system does not use the values changed for the display, but rather the original values specified by the OLAP processor.
