Calling the BEx Broadcaster
You can call the BEx Broadcaster from various areas of the Business Explorer in order to distribute BW objects.
From a technical viewpoint, the BEx Broadcaster and broadcasting wizard represent the Broadcaster Web item embedded in an otherwise empty Web application. This Web application (0BROADCASTING_TEMPLATE) is entered as the Standard Web Template for Broadcasting in Customizing under SAP Reference IMG → SAP NetWeaver → SAP Business Information Warehouse → Reporting-relevant Settings → BEx Web → Set Standard Web Templates. You can also specify another Web template as the Standard Web Template for Broadcasting here. This may be, for example, a template that has your company logo.
Depending on how the BEx Broadcaster is called, the Web item is displayed either as a BEx broadcaster or as a broadcasting wizard.
You can call the BEx Broadcaster from the following areas of the Business Explorer:
In the
Query Designer
Toolbar, choose Publish → BEx Broadcaster. You get to the BEx
Broadcaster. Here you see a list of available broadcast settings for the query
that you have edited in the Query Designer.
In the
Web Application
Designer Toolbar, choose Publish
→ BEx Broadcaster. You get to the BEx
Broadcaster. Here you see a list of available broadcast settings for the Web
application that you have edited in the Web Application Designer.
In the
BEx Toolbar in
the BEx Analyzer, choose Tools → Distribute Workbook. You get to the BEx Broadcaster.
Here you see a list of available broadcast settings for the workbook that you
have edited in the BEx Analyzer.

The Tools → Distribute Workbook option is only visible if you have opened a workbook. If you opened a query only in the BEx Analyzer, this distribute option is not available.
The Web
application contains at least one Web item to which you can apply the
context menu. In
the context menu, choose Distribute.
You get to the broadcasting wizard for distributing this Web
application.
With
ad-hoc
analysis and the
BEx Web Analyzer,
you can distribute in the following ways:
In the context menu of the table, choose Distribute. You get to the broadcasting wizard for distributing the query that forms the basis of the ad-hoc analysis or the BEx Web Analyzer.
Choose the Information Broadcasting tab page. You get to the BEx Broadcaster. Here you see a list of available broadcast settings for the query that forms the basis of the ad-hoc analysis or the BEx Web Analyzer.
You can also
insert the BEx Broadcaster in any Web application. In the BEx Web Application
Designer, drag the
broadcaster
Web item to a Web application. For more information on creating Web
applications, see
Creating Web
Applications with the BEx Web Application Designer.
