Procedure documentation Adjusting Modifications Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You only need to adjust modifications for add-ons.

If you have modified SAP objects from the add-on that you want to install, you must adjust these objects when you import them. Transaction SPDD adjusts Dictionary objects, and transaction SPAU adjusts Repository objects.

Prerequisites

The Add-On Installation Tool asked you to adjust your modifications.

Transaction SPDD

Adjust all modifications before you continue with the import.

Transaction SPAU

You have the following options:

·        You adjust all modifications before you continue with the import.

This is recommended if you only have a few objects to adjust, or if you can import a modification adjustment from your development or test system.

·        You perform the modification adjustment and the remaining phases in parallel.

This is recommended if you need to adjust a lot of objects.

Note

This procedure is particularly suitable when using the HyperLink: DT.TX_OCS_IMPORT_INACTIVE Import Mode: Downtime-minimized. In the subsequent phases, the Add-On Installation Tool deletes from the system versions of program code and program texts that have become obsolete. Since this can be a lengthy process, you can save time by simultaneously adjusting your modifications.

Procedure

·        When adjusting modifications, proceed as follows before continuing with the import:

...

                            a.      Stop importing the installation queue by using F12. (The Add-On Installation Tool resumes at the step RUN_SPAU or RUN_SPDD.)

                            b.      To enable your developers to adjust modifications, go to the Transport Organizer and create a request that includes tasks for the developers.

                            c.      Ask the developers to adjust the modifications for their objects.

If you have not yet confirmed the installation, choose Extras ® Adjust Modifications on the initial screen of the Add-On Installation Tool to go to either transaction SPDD or transaction SPAU.

After the adjustment is completed, the developers must release their tasks and inform you. Modifications can be adjusted in any client.

                            d.      Call the Add-On Installation Tool. The screen at which the processing stopped is automatically displayed.

                            e.      Choose Continue. The Support Package Manager again prompts you to adjust the modifications. Since this has already been done, ignore this prompt and choose Continue.

·        If you are adjusting modifications parallel to the installation process, continue importing the queue in the Add-On Installation Tool. Perform steps b. and c. parallel to the installation.

Result

The Add-On Installation Tool continues with the process (transaction SPDD) or completes it (transaction SPAU), and displays the status.
