Procedure documentation Selecting a System Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Before you can choose a query template, you must first select a system. The list of available templates varies depending on the system you have selected.

Prerequisites

·        You must be connected to a portal to see the list of available systems.

·        You must have at least one BI system defined in the portal. A BI system is a system based on:

¡        A BI Java Connector:

§         BI XMLA Connector

§         BI ODBO Connector

§         BI JDBC Connector

§         BI SAP Query Connector

¡        The SAP Connector against a BW system

Procedure

...

       1.      In the Available Systems section, expand the category of connections you want to use.

Select the category to display additional information, if available, in the Description and Properties sections of the screen.

       2.      Select the data service upon which you wish to build a query.

If you have selected a BW-native data service in the BW Web API Connections category, you may only work with available query views, and you therefore bypass the Select a Query Template screen and go directly to Select a Query screen. See Working With BW Query Views for more information.
