Calling Content from SAP BW in the Enterprise
Portal
The Portal desktop is the initial page to call content from SAP BW in the Enterprise Portal. The header area contains the initial navigation bar which includes all of the initial folders for the assigned Portal roles of a user. The initial entry takes place through the Portal roles.
When you select a folder, either an iView, a Portal page in the content area of a subfolder in detailed navigation is displayed.
The following options are available when you call content from the SAP BW:
· The BEx Web Applications as iView are started directly from Portal roles or Portal pages.
·
You
can include BEx Web Applications as documents and links in
Knowledge
Management (KM). Furthermore, you can display documents and links for
selection using the iView BEx Portfolio or KM Navigation
iView.
With
KM-Navigation
iView, a complete folder from Knowledge Management is displayed. The KM
Navigation iView enables the execution of functions from collaboration on
these documents and links (see
Collaboration User
Guide). The BEx Portfolio is a special graphical display of the KM
Navigation iView (see Calling from the BEx
Portfolio).
The fundamental difference between the two options for calling content from SAP BW can be summarized as follows:
When Portal roles are used, navigation using the initial navigation bar and detailed navigation is carried out. In contrast to this, navigation using folders in Knowledge Management takes place via the content area.
The various options for including collaboration functions with documents and links are clarified in the Business Explorer Portal role. You can find more information under Business Explorer Portal Roles.
