Providing Rooms 
Collaboration offers rooms as configurable virtual working environments for portal users. In a room, the member of teams or project groups can collaborate across time zones and between geographical locations.
As content administrator for Collaboration, you provide the room templates required in your enterprise.
Users use room templates to create rooms. Room templates contain basic specifications and settings for a room. For room parts, which you can insert into existing rooms as reusable modules, you require room part templates.
By assigning portal roles, you give individual users permission to create or enter rooms. The access permissions to the pages in a room are determined by the room role that is assigned to the room member attempting to access the pages in question.
The graphic below illustrates the significance of the room templates, room part templates, and room roles in a room. It is intended as an example.
