If you want to jump from a Web application to a transaction or an ABAP/4 report using the RRI, an ITS first has to be installed for the target system. The transaction or the ABAP report is then represented in the SAP GUI for HTML, which is a component of the ITS. The ITS is also used for jump targets within the BW server. This does not have to be installed separately however, because it is automatically included in a BW system.

The URL to start an R/3 transaction in SAP GUI for HTML is generated by the BW server.
