Mass Maintenance and Conversion of Web
Templates
Mass maintenance of Web templates allows you to change several Web templates automatically at the same time. This means that you are able to export or import several Web templates simultaneously and perform simple replacement operations.
The mass maintenance and conversion of Web templates is a standard ABAP report. You execute it by specifying the name of the report.
In the menu bar of the SAP Easy Access screen, choose System ® Services ® Reporting (transaction code SA38) and enter the report name RS_TEMPLATE_MASS_ALTER in the Program field.
The export and import of Web templates is only possible for already existing Web templates.
The Mass Conversion of Web Templates screen is divided into four areas:
Entry
In this area you can select the Web templates that you want to change, export or import by criteria such as roles, Web template name, and user name of the last person to make changes to the Web template. Alternatively you can specify a file with a list of technical names of Web templates.
For importing from the file system, you can specify a folder which includes the Web templates to be transported.
Filter
In the Filter area you can further restrict the set of selected Web templates, for example, by entering a particular search string that has to be contained in the Web Template.
Operation Selection
In the Operation Sel. area you can determine whether and which operations are to be executed in the selected Web templates.
You can choose between the following possible operations:
· Export / import Web templates

When exporting Web templates, data such as role assignment, header information (for example, language-dependent texts), and local chart settings is not exported.
· Conversion of Web templates with a function module. The function module signature has to correspond to the RSWAD_ALTER_TEMPLATE_SAMPLE pattern.
· Conversion of Web templates by string replacement.
Output Destination
In the Output Dest. screen area you determine where and in what way the Web template is to be output. The following options are available:
· Save to the database
· Save to the front-end file system
· Output list of technical names, whereby you specify the corresponding file

Overwriting Web templates can lead to massive, unrecoverable changes being made to Web templates. For this reason it is imperative that you save the data in the original Web template before performing automatic conversions. Also note the information contained in SAP Note 710112 on using this report.
