Configuration of the User Search
Function
In user management in the User Management Engine (UME), attributes are assigned to each system user (individual user, user group, or role), for which values can be entered in the corresponding user profile.
Based on the attribute values defined for the user search, users can use the user search function to search for system users.
You can change the configuration of the user search function delivered by SAP – the assignment of attributes to system users and the definition of the attributes relevant for the search – to suit the requirements of your company. The required activities are listed below.
The Content Administration portal role is assigned to your user.

Define attributes relevant for searches |
When you click an assigned attribute in the list of attributes for a system user (see the Assign attributes section above), a list of all attributes appears. You can then decide which attributes are available for the user search. To make an
attribute relevant for searching (available for the user search), you
set the searchable flag in the configuration for the attribute in
question. The attributes activated for the user search are marked with the

Copy attribute (create a variant relevant for searches and a variant not relevant for searches)
|
An attribute can be either relevant for searches or not relevant for searches. If you flag an attribute for a system user as relevant for searches and require it to be not relevant for searches for another system user, you must copy the attribute and flag the copy as not relevant for searches. This allows you to assign the required variant of the same attribute to different system users. You can launch the attribute table directly by choosing the following path: System Configuration ® Content Management ® Repository Managers ® Show Advanced Options ® UME Object Settings ® UME Principals ® UME Attributes Mapping. |
