Template Administration
Through two separate iViews, template administration provides access to the list of available room templates and room part templates. You can edit, validate, copy, and delete existing templates and create new templates.
When you launch the room or room part template administration, the system provides all relevant settings for configuring the room infrastructure in the Related Topics area.
When you choose the
function for creating a new room template, the system displays a wizard
that leads you through the creation process.
The data in the individual creation steps is grouped analog to the tab pages
for maintaining
templates.
Room template administration provides a list of the available room templates on the entry screen. In the context menu for each room template (mouse-click on the >> icon next to the name), you can launch the following functions:
Function |
Description |
Edit |
When you choose this function, the system displays the room template data for maintenance.
You cannot change the standard templates (name prefix SAP) that SAP delivers. If you want to make changes, copy the standard template and change the copy. For editing, the room template information is grouped in the same way as for the creation steps, but on tab pages. You can changes the attributes and settings for the template. |
Copy |
By copying existing templates, you can create new templates and change these to suit your company’s requirements. Each copy of a template automatically receives the same name with the suffix “_n”; this number increases by one each time that you copy the source template. For example: When you copy the “Teamroom” template, the system creates the copy “Teamroom_1”. When you copy the same template again, the system creates the copy “Teamroom_2”. When you copy the “Teamroom_2” template, the system names the first copy of this template “Teamroom_2_1”. You can change the suggested names of the new templates. |
Validate |
When you launch
this function, the system checks the template and issues a log with
information messages ● Is there a workset for the template? ● Is at least one room role assigned to each page in the workset? ● Are the assignments of the parameters to the iView properties valid? (Do the iView and parameters exist?) ●
Are the extensions
configured correctly? The messages issued are arranged in areas in the same way as the tab pages of the iView for template maintenance (General, Roles, Parameters, Extensions, and so on). Messages that you can only solve manually contain troubleshooting information. Messages regarding problems that the system can clean up automatically are grouped together in the respective areas. You can use various options to decide to what extent the system should clean up problems automatically. ● Cleanup of individual problems The system cleans up all problems that you have selected. ● Cleanup of a group The system cleans up all problems for messages that belong to the group. You do not have to select the messages. ● Cleanup of all groups The system cleans up all problems in all groups in the log for the validation function. You do not have to select the messages. You cannot change the templates delivered by SAP (you can only change copies of them). Therefore, there is no validation function for SAP templates. |
Delete |
You can delete room templates. If you choose this function, the system displays a confirmation prompt. |
