Use
You can display a diagram of the data flow of objects within BW in the Administrator Workbench - Modeling. This illustrates the connections and dependencies between individual objects. It can be called up for InfoProviders, transaction data InfoSources and master data InfoSources.
Integration
Using Display data flow in the context menu (right mouse button) for an object, you can call up a diagram for this object in the right-hand screen area of the Administrator Workbench. All related objects and rules that precede this object in the data flow are displayed. For transaction data InfoSources, all related objects up to the InfoProvider are displayed.
For a master data InfoSource you can also display connected source systems, DataSources and transfer rules. The diagram also contains the update rules and InfoProviders for transaction data- and master data- InfoSources with flexible updating.
For an InfoProvider, related InfoProviders, update rules, InfoSources, transfer rules, DataSources, and source systems are displayed.
Functions
The objects themselves represent nodes in the diagram. The rules that describe the dependencies between objects are displayed using arrows. An icon tells you what type of rule it is. The nodes contain the object symbol and the descriptive text. Quickinfo displays which rule joins two objects and whether this is active or inactive if you select the corresponding arrow with the mouse. By choosing the appropriate pushbutton on the data flow diagram, you can display the technical name of the objects, print, enlarge, reduce, turn, refresh, and save the graphic in jpg form.
By double clicking on a node or arrow, you can branch to the display of an object or a rule.
