Role Management
In the user management administration console, you can create, modify, and delete UME roles. In addition, you can assign roles to users.

If a portal is
also running on the J2EE Engine, the portal roles are also displayed in the
role management function of the administration console. For more information
on portal roles, see
UME Roles and Portal
Roles and
Roles and
Worksets.
UME roles define a set of authorizations. By assigning a role to a user or group, you grant the set of authorizations that the role defines to the user or group. For example, you can create a role containing all the permissions that a user administrator requires and assign this role to all user administrators.
To be able to assign UME roles to users and groups, you need the UME action UME.Manage_Roles or UME.Manage_All.
You access role management in the user management administration console.
