Object documentation Frameset Layout Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

A frameset layout is an info object of class KWN_FRAME in the HTML-Based Documents area that can be used to define the number, size, and order of the frames in the browser.

Use

Frameset layout templates are associated with structures, and not with content objects. This means that displaying a different structure in the browser can result in a change in the frameset layout, but not just displaying a different content object (which can, however, result in a change in the content layout).

The options available to people creating contents for linking contents with design templates are defined in the content model of the particular area. You therefore have to distinguish between the options defined in the content model of the HTML-Based Documents area and the general options that can be used to create a content model for a new area.

Frameset layout templates can always be linked to:

·        The individual structure

·        The structure class

·        The area (that is, all the structures of the area)

The more specific link (for example, to a certain structure) overrides the more general link (for example, to the class of the structure). If no frameset layout was defined at any of these three levels, the standard frameset of the Internet Knowledge Server is used.

The frameset layout AREA_DEFAULT_FRAME is used in the content model of the HTML-Based Documents area as the default setting for all the structures of the area. This can be overridden by defining a different frameset layout in the attribute maintenance for the particular structure.

Structure

An info object of the class frameset layout generally includes multiple components: In addition to the mandatory file defined by the frameset (frameset.thtm), this usually includes a file that defines the contents of the banner (banner.thtm) as well as graphic files that are referenced in the banner.
