Managing Users 
· You have logged on to the J2EE Engine using the Visual Administrator.
· The Security Provider is running on the J2EE Engine.
· Your user has administrator rights.

1. Select the Security Provider from the list of services.
2. Choose the Runtime ® User Management tab page.
You can either search or choose Tree to display your groups and users.
3. To perform a specific task, see the table below.

Select the user in the user tree. |
The user’s information appears, for example, when the user was created or modified, when the user last logged on, or whether the user is locked. |
Create a new user |

You can generate a random password by activating the Random password indicator. You can also specify that the user must change his or her password on a regular basis. The
Associate Certificates to Account section only applies if you use SSL and

Delete a user |
Select the user in the user tree and choose Remove User. Confirm with OK. |
The user is deleted from the user store. |
Lock or unlock a user |
Select the user in the user tree and choose Lock or Unlock respectively.

Only the option that is available is displayed. The user’s lock status is displayed in the user’s information. |
Change a user’s password |
... 1. Select the user in the user tree. 2. Enter the new password in the Change password field and press Enter. 3. Confirm with Yes. |

Create a group |
... 1. Choose Create Group. 2. In the dialog that follows, specify a name for the group. 3. Select the parent group, child group, and users to assign to this group as desired. 4. Choose OK. |
You can also assign the parent group, child group, and users later. |
Assign a user to a group or assign a group to a higher level group (group a group). |
... 1. Select the user or group from the user tree and choose Group. 2. In the dialog that follows, select the parent group from the user tree and choose OK. |
The user or group is assigned to the selected group. |
Remove a user or group from a group |
Select the user or group from the user tree and choose Ungroup. |
The user or group is removed from the selected group. |
Delete a group |
... 1. Remove all members from the group. 2. Select the group from the user tree and choose Remove Group. 3. Confirm with OK. |
You cannot remove a group that is not empty. |
