You can access information on the configuration of the database manager by calling the DBA Cockpit and choosing Configuration ® Database Manager in the navigation frame of the DBA Cockpit. The Configuration: Database Manager screen appears.

The following information is displayed:

Tabstrip

Description

Common

Common information on the database manager, for example, release level and CPU speed

Diagnostics

Information on the default monitor switches of the database and on diagnostics

Security

Information on groups and authentications of the database manager and on clients

Memory

Information on the memory of the database manager

Applications

Information on agents and the database application remote interface (DARI)

Sync Point Manager

Information on the configuration of the synchronization manager and the transaction manager

Communications

Information on network characteristics such as communication protocols and on DCE directory services

FCM

Note

This information is only displayed in a multi-partition environment.

Information on the fast communication manager (FCM), that is, the configured communication in a multi-partition database

Discovery Services

Information on the configuration of the discovery mode

The database manager parameters on each tabstrip are displayed with a short description and a keyword. This keyword is the name of the parameter and is displayed in brackets. If you need to change a parameter, use the following command:

UPDATE DATABASE MANAGER CONFIGURATION using <keyword> <value>

Note

In a multi-partition environment, the database manager parameters are the same for all partitions. Therefore, All is displayed in the Partition field in the Database Manager Configuration group box.
