InfoPackage Group 
Definition
An InfoPackage group is a collection of InfoPackages.
Use
In order to summarize data requests which logically belong together from a business point of view, and to therefore simplify the request, you can collect data requests (meaning the InfoPackages) into an InfoPackage Group. You can schedule each of these groups in the scheduler . With the data request the scheduler can access InfoPackage groups directly and thereby request more than one InfoPackage at a time, corresponding to the setting in the InfoPackage group. Thus, you can support InfoPackage groups with the serialization of your data requests.
You can edit InfoPackage groups in the InfoSource tree of the Administrator Workbench modeling. You can find further information on this in the section Maintaining InfoPackage Groups. You can also get to the InfoPackage group tree in the Administrator Workbench monitoring.
In BW 3.0, automatic process control has been enhanced and improved significantly with the concept of process chains. Controlling the loading process by using InfoPackage groups is no longer enhanced, but continues to be supported. We recommend that you only use process chains for newly-defined bundles of data requests that belong together.
Integration
InfoPackages have a connection to both the transport system and to the document managements of SAP BW.
