Maintaining Node Groups (DB2 UDB for UNIX and
Windows) 
Using the node group list on the Configuration: Node Groups screen, you can maintain node group entries as follows:
· Change node groups, that is add or remove partitions
· Add new node groups
· Delete node groups

On the Configuration: Node Groups screen, choose
Edit.
The Configuration: Node Group Maintenance – Change Node Group screen appears.
The following information is displayed:
Partitions
This tabstrip contains a list of all partitions of the node group.

Buffer Pools
This tabstrip contains a list of all buffer pools that have been defined for the selected node group.

Total space in KB. If you create tablespaces, this information is not displayed. |

Buffer Pool Size (KB) |
Size of the buffer pool in KB. A value of –1 indicates that the default buffer pool size parameter from the database configuration is used (parameter BUFFPAGE). |

Size of one buffer pool page in bytes |
For detailed information on buffer pools, double-click the corresponding buffer pool.
Tablespaces
This tabstrip contains a list of all tablespaces that have been defined for the selected node group.

For detailed information on tablespaces, double-click the corresponding tablespace.
2. To apply changes, choose Partitions.
3. You can now add or delete partitions:

To add partitions, choose
Add
Partition.
The system automatically suggests a new partition that has not yet been defined in the node group. You can modify this suggestion by manually selecting another partition.

To delete partitions,
select one or more lines in the table and choose
Delete
Partition.

To confirm your entries,
choose
Execute.

On the Configuration: Node Groups screen, choose
Add.
The Configuration: Node Group Maintenance – Add Node Group screen appears.

By default, all
available partitions are listed to be part of the new node group. Choose
Delete
Partition if you want to
reduce this list.
2. Specify a name for the new node group.

We recommend that you use uppercase letters for the node group name. Using lowercase letters or special characters makes accessing the selected node group with the DB2 command line processor less comfortable.

To confirm your entries,
choose
Add.

1. On the Configuration: Node Groups screen, select a node group.

Choose
Delete.
The Configuration: Node Group Maintenance – Delete Node Group screen appears.

To delete the selected
node group, choose
Delete.

You cannot delete node groups that contain tablespaces that are still being used by the SAP system.
You must delete the tablespaces first.
In the lower half of the Configuration: Node Group Maintenance screen, an editor is displayed that shows the generated SQL statement(s) that will be executed. This area is automatically filled and refreshed if any changes were applied correctly.
