Definition

This submonitor in the SAP/Oracle Database Monitor helps you monitor currently active locks that are causing other requests to wait.

Use

You choose Detailed Analyses ®  Exceptional Conditions ® Lock Monitor.

Note

Entries marked “RAC only” are only relevant for Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC).

You can view history information in this monitor.

Structure

This screen contains the following information:

Lock status, HOLD or WAIT

Oracle Session ID

You can view details on the locks displayed and also related locks:

·        Detailed lock display

You can double-click a row to view the detailed lock display, including the SQL statement.

·        Related locks

From the detailed lock display, you can choose Linked Lock to display the related lock holders or waiters:

¡        For a lock holder, the lock holder itself and all lock waiters are displayed.

¡        For  a lock waiter, the lock waiter itself and the related lock holder are displayed.
