Component documentation SAP Web Application Server

Purpose

The SAP Web Application Server (SAP Web AS) is a further development of the component SAP_BASIS. With the SAP Web AS as a technology platform for SAP applications, you can develop Web applications in Java in addition to the existing BASIS functions. You can then implement these Web applications directly in SAP business processes.

Integration

The Web Application Server offers HTTP client functions as well as connection to Java using the SAP J2EE Engine and the SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo).

For more information, see:

Processing of HTTP and HTTPS requests is realized in the SAP Web AS by the Internet Communication Framework (ICF). For the use of Web Services, the SAP Web AS implements Structure linkSOAP and WSDL as central Web service technologies.
