Configuring Systems for Remote Monitoring
Using RFC (DB2 UDB for UNIX and Windows) 
You use this procedure to configure systems that are to be monitored using an RFC connection.
· You have defined an RFC connection using transaction SM59.
· The system(s) you intend to monitor must have at least release 4.6x. Additionally, SAP systems with release level lower 6.10 must have the minimum Support Package level as described in SAP Note 300828.

1. Call the DBA Cockpit.

Choose
Configuration.
A list of all
systems available is displayed with a
Stop,
Go or
Attention icon showing the current status of this
system.

When you start the DBA Cockpit for the first time, the local system is automatically added to the list of all systems available. At least one system entry is displayed.

Choose
Add.
The Configuration: System Administration – Add System Entry screen appears.
4. In the System field, specify the system you want to monitor.

This name is only an ID and does not need to be the SAP system ID.
You can choose any name except the SAP system ID of the local system, which is reserved for the local system entry.
5. In the RFC Destination field on the Connection Data tab, enter the name of an existing RFC destination.

The name of the RFC destination is case-sensitive.

Confirm your entry by
choosing
Add.
The DBA Cockpit connects automatically to the newly added system and displays system data on the System Data tab.

2. Select a system.

Edit.
The Configuration: System Administration - Change System Entry screen appears.
in which you can change the RFC destination.
4. On the Connection Data tab, change the RFC destination. To display system data information, choose the System Data tab.
5. Save your changes.
