Properties of the Query
In the Properties of the Query dialog box, you can make various settings for the query runtime.
The options for changing a query are divided into three areas: In addition, a fourth, informational area is displayed.
· Data staging
· Number display
· Display from
· Last changed
In Data Staging, two basic options that influence the query output are combined.
· You decide between a display in the Multi-dimensional View and the Tabular View. In the tabular reporting view, the InfoObjects are displayed only in the columns.
· In the standard, Multi-Dimensional View, you can make additional settings.
- You can place characteristics that are split over several columns in one column in a hierarchy. To do this, select Display Columns Hierarchically...and specify in the dropdown box the node to which you want to expand this hierarchy.
- You can place characteristics that are split over several rows in one row in a hierarchy. To do this, select Display Rows Hierarchically...and specify in the dropdown box the node to which you want to expand this hierarchy.
There are several options in the Number Display area:
· Under Result Position, you determine where you want to display the results in tables.
- Bottom/right (=default setting)
- Top/left
- Bottom/left
- Top/right
· Under +/- Signs display, you choose how the minus sign is displayed.
- In front of the value – for example, -X is displayed
- Behind the value – for example, X- is displayed
- In parentheses – for example, (X) is displayed
· Zero display
The following display options are available for displaying zeroes:
With Currency/Unit: Zeroes are displayed with the currency/unit (for example, 0.00EUR). This is the default setting.
Without Currency/Unit: Zeroes are displayed without a currency or unit entry, that is, 0.00.
A Empty Cells: Cells containing a zero value remain empty.
Display Zeroes As: Choosing this setting activates the Display Zeroes As field. You are now able to enter the required value (character, number or letter), for example, *. The cells containing a zero value are filled with this value.
· Suppressing zeroes
You can use this setting to determine whether columns or rows containing zeros are to be displayed.
The following options are available to you under Suppression:
¡ No: Rows or columns with zeroes are displayed.
¡ Active: If characteristics are in the rows and columns, every row or column that has a result of zero is not displayed. The rows or columns include, for example, the values 1, -1, 1, -1 and thus the result is 0. If you select this setting, the whole row or column is not displayed.
¡ Active (all values = 0): Columns or rows containing zero values in all cells are not displayed.
Under Effect on, define whether suppression of zero values should be applied to rows and columns, only to rows or only to columns.
Applying Zero Suppression to Structure Elements As Well
If you also want to suppress the structure elements that only contain zeroes, select Zero Suppression on Structure Elements of the Structure As Well.
You can choose from the following display options:
· Display scaling factors
Key figures can have scaling factors and units/currencies. Normally, units/currencies are displayed for every key figure, but not the scaling factors. If you activate the Display Scaling Factors for Key Figures, an additional header row is added in the row or columns header of the table. Information about the scaling factor and currency/unit appears in this additional header row, as long as it is consistent (for example, 1,000 EURO).
This setting is deactivated by default.
You can set the scaling factor in Key Figure Properties.
· Display document links
For metadata,
master data, and InfoProvider data for a Web application, you can display
links to documents that you have created for these objects.
If documents exist for these objects, the symbol
appears next to these objects. If you click on
this symbol, you jump to the document display in a second browser
window.
Highlight the
appropriate setting so that the document links for the desired document class
are displayed. The document classes are oriented to the various categories of
BW objects. InfoProvider data, master data and metadata. See
Document
Classes.
For more information, see Using Documents in Web Applications.
· Display Drag&Relate links
If you
activate this setting, the
symbol appears in the Web application next to
the Drag&Relate-enabled InfoObjects. This setting is necessary for you to
be able to recognize Drag&Relate-enabled InfoObjects in an Enterprise
Portal and to use the Drag&Relate function. For more information about the
Drag&Relate function, see Drag&Relate with
BW Content in the Enterprise Portal.
Information about the last changes to the query is displayed in this area:
· Owner
· Last Changed By
· Date
· Time
In the Web application, from the enhanced context menu for the characteristic value, choose a characteristic description or the structural component Query Properties. You reach the Query Properties dialog box. Make your settings and choose Transfer.
