Tasks for System Administration 

Purpose

Various settings need to be made in system administration in order to use information broadcasting.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have administrator authorization for broadcasting. You need authorization object S_RS_ADMWB with the field RSADMWBOBJ = BR_SETTING. For more information, see Overview: Authorization Objects.

Process Flow

       1.      So that the end user is not only able to distribute business intelligence content immediately, but also to schedule distribution, you assign the end user authorizations to schedule broadcast settings. To do this, use authorization object S_RS_BCS. For more information, see Authorizations for Working with a Query in the Authorizations for the BEx Broadcaster section.

       2.      If the business intelligence content is to be distributed by e-mail, make sure that the user also has authorization for authorization object S_OC_SEND. If you are sending the BI content to an Internet address, you require communication type INT. If you are sending BI content to an SAP Office recipient, you require communication type OFF. The communication type OFF is only used if no e-mail address has been entered in the user master data.

       3.      If the Business Intelligence content is to be distributed by e-mail, enter E-Mail as the communication type and then the user e-mail addresses in the user master record for the end user, under user maintenance (transaction code SU01).        4.      To enable processing of broadcast settings upon data change, add the process type DATACHANGE into the process chains for data loading. For more information, see Including an Event Data Change in a Process Chain.

       5.      To set times for processing broadcast settings, schedule the report RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINT. For more information, see Defining Times for Broadcast Scheduling.

       6.      You are able to monitor and test the distribution of BI content by e-mail in transaction SAPconnect: Administration (System Status) (transaction code SCOT). For more information, see Monitoring the Sending of E-Mails.

       7.      When information broadcasting is operational, the system automatically generates bookmark Ids and iViews for the precalculated documents or online links. You are able to reorganize and delete no longer used bookmark and view IDs with report RSRD_BOOKMARK_REORGANISATION. For more information, see Reorganization of Bookmark IDs and View IDs.
