Online Administration: Visual Administrator 

Purpose

The Visual Administrator is the main tool for online administration of the SAP Web AS (Java). In the Visual Administrator you can, for example:

·        Perform system configuration

·        Create and maintain user groups

·        Deploy Applications

·        Perform large parts of the system monitoring

·        Register new licenses for your SAP Web AS (Java)

 

Constraints

You cannot create new server processes using the Visual Administrator. Use the Config Tool to do this.

You can use the Deploy Service of the Visual Administrator to deploy and update your applications, and so on. However, if there is a System Landscape Directory in your SAP system landscape, you should use the Software Deployment Manager (SDM) to deploy SAP applications to ensure that the version data of the application is reported to the System Landscape Directory.
