Note the following changes and new features in the administration and configuration of Knowledge Management in SAP NetWeaver 04 Support Package Stack 20.
You can use a different Details dialog box than the dialog box set by default. No menu bar is displayed in the alternative Details dialog box. There are pushbuttons that allow you to quickly call up frequently used functions.
To use the alternative Details dialog box, you have to enter the command that renders the link to it on the user interface into the configuration.
For more
information, see
Alternative Details
Dialog Box.
You can use the client cache service to cache static resources such as graphics or stylesheets in the browser cache of the client PC.
Client-side caching reduces the amount of requests sent to the portal server because static resources that have already been called once can be loaded directly from the browser cache of the user if further requests occur. This reduces the portal server load.
In the configuration, you can specify the folders and/or MIME types for which client-side caching applies.
For more
information, see
Client-Side Caching of
Static Objects.
The following parameters have been added to the index management service:
● Supported Languages
Specifies the languages supported by Search and Classification (TREX) in ISO format.
Default setting: EN,DE,ES,FR,DA,NL,FI,IT,JA,KO,NB,NN,PT,SV,CS,EL,HU,PL,RO,RU,TR,ZH,ZF,AR,HE,SK,SR,TH,BG,SL,HR,MS,UK,ET,LT,LV,AF,ID,IS,CA,NO,SH
You can use the langPropId custom property of an index to assign a document to a specific language index manually, thereby preventing the document being identified incorrectly in cases where the language is a critical factor. Users can use a predefined property to determine the language/language index into which the document in question is to be indexed. The list of permitted languages is specified in the Supported Languages parameter.
For more
information, see
Creating an
Index.
● Enable Dynamic Taxonomies
This parameter is reserved future use. Do not change the existing setting (false). This parameter will not be active until it is announced in a future release note.
For more
information, see
Index Management
Service.
The new Exclude Paths from WebDAV Access parameter in the configuration of the WebDAV protocol allows you to suppress WebDAV access for KM folders.

If you are operating a portal with a large number of users, you can exclude the /userhome directory from WebDAV access. WebDAV access to this folder would cause an undesirably high system load as a result of the determination and display of the large number of user-specific subfolders contained in it. However, users can still access subfolders of /userhome.
For more
information, see
WebDAV
Protocol.
The manufacturer has taken Lotus Domino Server, version 5.x, out of maintenance, therefore the toolkit required (Lotus Domino Toolkit for JAVA/CORBA Release 5.0.8) is no longer available from the manufacturer. As a consequence, the Lotus Notes Repository Manager in the standard system can no longer be used in new projects.
If you use Lotus Domino Server, version 6.x or higher, a repository manager is available from an SAP partner. For more information, contact SAP Support by entering a message on component EP-KM-RM-CON.
